Queensland Deputy Premier Steven Miles has accused the federal government of "trying to use the vaccine rollout" to distract from the government's problems. Mr Miles' comments follow criticism from Defence Minister Peter Dutton the Queensland government was "panicking" over a few COVID-19 cases and ought to be able to better manage them. Mr Dutton said he had hoped that this year, lockdowns and border closures would become a thing of the past. "We should be able to deal with an outbreak of one or two or three cases, so I think there has been from the start and, probably from this latest example, a bit of panic by Premier Palaszczuk," Mr Dutton said.
