Health Minister Greg Hunt says by working together the country was able to avoid a mass COVID-19 breakout in Queensland and New South Wales. Both states recorded zero new cases just days after Brisbane exited a three-day snap lockdown. “We did face a potential mass two state breakout, yet by working together and the actions of Australians, all the actions taken, while we aren't completely out of the woods yet, I think the results from New South Wales and Queensland are very, very heartening,” Mr Hunt said. “We know how to do this. We know when there are cases and what we have to do. Some of these decisions are difficult but they are lifesaving.”
