Zielke and her Lions make their debut

LED by Bundaberg's Emma Zielke, the Brisbane Lions have made the perfect start to their new AFL women's campaign.

The side recorded a 16-point win in wet and windy conditions at Coorparoo in their first official practice match against the GWS Giants.

The Lions kicked three final-term goals to the Giants' two to secure their first win as a new team in front of 1000 fans.

Zielke, wearing the No.8 jersey, played out most of the match and didn't show signs of the broken foot that had hampered her pre-season.

The Lions will now train before playing their firstofficial match of the new AFL women's season against the Melbourne Demons on March 4 at the Casey Fields.
