Comment: You can make your voice heard

Comment: REMOVING or keeping council divisions has been a divisive issue in our community.

Since the decision was made to keep divisions, residents have been expressing their disappointment at the Change Commission ruling.

But they made it pretty clear the submission made to them overwhelmingly supported keeping the divisions - they had pages and pages of signatures in favour of maintaining the status quo.

It made me wonder if the people being so vocal about having divisions removed actually made submissions to the commission, or attended the public forums they held.

If you feel strongly about an issue and want to actually affect change, you really have to put your money where your mouth is.

I am not a fisher, but I know many people love our area for its great fishing spots.

That is why, if you feel strongly about the State Government's plans to ban net fishing, it is imperative you make your voice heard.

There is no use in complaining about it once it is done.
