Wrong move ends in court

CHRISTOPHER Peter Devonish reacted to another man touching his girlfriend's breasts - and ended up in Bundaberg Magistrates Court yesterday.

Police prosecutor, Sergeant Barry Stevens, said the 31-year-old Bundaberg man was charged with creating a disturbance after he would not stop fighting.

“He ended up in a fight with another person at a hotel and was asked to leave, but he continued to fight,” Sgt Stevens said.

Magistrate Jennifer Batts told the defendant that as objectionable as the other man's behaviour was, Devonish could not behave in the manner he did.

Devonish, who pleaded guilty, was fined $300. No conviction was recorded.
