Writers have their say

BUNDABERG writers will have the chance to help shape the future of Queensland's writing strategy as Arts Queensland prepares to hold a special consultation session in town next month.

Bundaberg writers are invited to the event, at the Bundaberg Library, where opinions will be sought to help create an Arts Queensland Writing Strategy for 2012-2016.

Local author Sandy Curtis said she was thrilled Bundaberg writers were being included.

"It's wonderful that they're asking for our input," Mrs Curtis said.

"I feel Bundaberg writers will be grateful for this opportunity to express their views and look forward to meeting (arts development officer) Cori Stewart and (co-director of the Institute of the Future for the Book) Chris Meade."

Participants should visit www.arts.qld.gov.au/projects/writing-mapping.html and view the Map of the Queensland Writing Sector document, which outlines the issues to be discussed.

For more information or to RSVP to the event by November 24, email cori.stewart@arts.qld.gov.au or call 3224 5698.
The session will take place on December 8 from 3.30pm.
