Wright stuff as North goes unbeaten at nationals

QUEENSLAND North is assured of a quarter finals spot at the U16 national basketball championships after a faultless campaign so far.

Featuring Bundaberg’s Mitchell Wright, the team has won five straight matches against their pool rivals, including a heart-stopping win against South Australia on Tuesday night.

Needing double overtime to beat the Croweaters, the team won 93-92.

They now sit second behind Victoria Metro with the team facing Western Australia for top spot in their final match yesterday.

Playing all matches so far Wright has averaged just over three points and four rebounds.

The team will play in the quarter-finals today. The grand final is on Saturday.
