World's coolest boss seeks starry-eyed night owls

LIGHTEN up unemployed star-gazers, because we've found you the coolest job in the world.

A Finnish hotel made from ice and glass is desperate to find a night owl willing to spend their evenings Northern Lights spotting.

But you need to send your resume ASAP as applications for this Arctic Circle job close on Sunday (SEPT 11).

The Arctic Snow Hotel wants an English-speaking "spotter” to spend the hours between 11pm and 6.30am looking out for the Aurora Borealis.

The spotter will then be charged with alerting the hotel's guests when the light show begins.

The lucky job recipient will be employed from December to April and the salary will be discussed during your job interview.

The Arctic Snow Hotel is as seasonal as the star-gazing job.

It is built from snow and ice each October and remains in place until the end of the Northern Lights season.

Guests do not have to get out of bed to see the lights because the hotel has a glass roof.

The hotel is sifting through a "lots of inquiries” about the job.

"There are actually so many that is impossible for us to reply to each and every one of them but we are thankful for your interest,” the hotel wrote on its Facebook page.

If your application for what is possibly the world's coolest job is not successful, the hotel is also looking for wait-staff, receptionists and "maids”.

The Aurora Borealis light show happens when electrically charged particles from the sun react with gases in the Earth's atmosphere.

Such light shows only happen around the Earth's magnetic poles and Finland is one of the best places to watch them.

The Southern Hemisphere has the Aurora Australis or Southern Aurora.
