Workshops to boost recovery

IF YOU'RE finding it difficult to talk about how the recent floods have impacted you then some free workshops this week may help.

Experienced trauma psychologist Rob Gordon will return to Bundaberg for the Recovery Matters workshops to discuss long-term community recovery after natural disasters.

Participants can connect with others facing similar challenges while learning more about stress, including problems with memory, decision making and managing responsibilities.

Centacare Bundaberg senior co-ordinator Jade Law said the full recovery cycle from natural disasters could take years.

"This workshop will offer participants practical understanding of the long reach of disasters into people's lives," Ms Law said.

The workshops will be held at the Young Aussie Hotel, 59 Perry St, Bundaberg, from 6pm to 8pm tomorrow and Old Bundy Tavern, 20 Quay St, Bundaberg, from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday.
