Workshop for Bundy food industry focus on plastics disposal

BUNDABERG food producers and distributors will be given the opportunity to attend a free workshop discussing the issues and latest techniques regarding plastic disposal this week.

The Managing Agricultural Plastic Waste in the Bundaberg Region workshop, organised by industry development organisation QMI Solutions, will be held on Wednesday.

The event is fully subsidised by the Queensland Government Department of Science, Information Technology and Innovation.

Event facilitator Samantha Perkins, a senior innovation consultant at the AIC (a brand of QMI Solutions), said the event would bring together representatives from industry bodies, research organisations, the council and growers to discuss all the problems and most effective solutions to agricultural plastics disposal.

Wednesday's workshop will be at the Bundaberg Enterprise Centre's Neville Room, on the corner of Quay and Tantitha Sts, from 1-4pm.
