Woods delays his comeback

GOLF: Former world No.1 Tiger Woods has delayed his return from back surgery.

Woods, 40, who has not played for 14 months, has pulled out of this week's Safeway Open in California and next month's Turkish Airlines Open in Turkey.

"After a lot of soul- searching and honest reflection, I know that I am not yet ready to play on the PGA Tour or compete in Turkey,” Woods said on his website.

"My health is good, and I feel strong, but my game is vulnerable and not where it needs to be.”

Woods will try to return for the Hero World Challenge, which he hosts in the Bahamas in December.
