Woman thanks police for helping elderly man with tyre

A WOMAN who was driving her husband to work yesterday saw what she thought was a team of police who had stopped an elderly man in Walker St.

"On second glance we saw the jack under the car," she said.

"It looks like they had stopped to help him on the way to another job."

Mrs Lee said there was one police car and a motorcycle on the scene.

She said the police were helping the man change his tyre.

"We saw the boot was open, then we saw the jack," she said.

""It was just a really nice moment."

Mrs Lee said she wanted to take a photo as they went past but she realised using her phone while driving would have been illegal.

"A lot of elderly people would struggle to change a tyre," she said.

"I know to many this isn't a big thing but given all the negativity that is put on the police I wanted to share something positive."
