Woman steals baby clothes from Big W

A WOMAN stole 10 items of baby clothes and a pair of feather earrings from Big W, the Bundaberg Magistrates Court was told yesterday.

Cindy Ann Gill, 34, of Elliott Heads, pleaded guilty to unauthorised dealing with shop goods.

Police prosecutor Senior Constable Fiona Ward said the loss prevention officer at Big W at Sugarland Shoppingtown saw Gill take the tags from a pair of earrings before placing them in her pocket on October 5.

She said the officer then saw Gill walk to the baby section where she took a number of items, including leggings, a denim skirt and shoes, and place them down the front of her pants.

Gill was then seen to walk around the store occasionally dropping the tags from the items she had taken.

The court was told Gill walked to the front of the store and made no attempt to pay for the items.

Snr Const Ward said Gill made full admissions to taking the items when she was questioned by police.

Magistrate Jennifer Batts placed Gill on a $180 good behaviour bond for three months.

No conviction was recorded.
