Woman stabs attacker with keys to avoid sexual assault

A 28-year-old woman managed to fight off an attacker - stabbing him in the face with her car keys - after she was thrown to the ground last night whilst out walking at Indooroopilly.

Around 8.35pm the woman was walking along Riverview Terrace heading towards Station Road when a man grabbed her from behind forcing her forward and onto the ground.

He then fell on top of the woman and pulled at her clothing. She struggled and fought him, eventually managing to get him to flee after punching him several times with her car keys.

The man is described as Caucasian with an Australian accent - approximately 175 to 180cms tall, with a skinny build, short brown curly hair and was wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans.

Police are appealing to anyone in the area who may have seen a man matching the above description last night, or know of a man who has new and possibly unexplained facial injuries, to contact Crime Stoppers.
