Extent of injuries unknown: 'There was too much blood'
UPDATE, 4PM: A Maryborough detective said the extent of the injuries suffered by a 25-year-old Maryborough woman was "unknown" due to the amount of blood from her wounds.
Detective Senior Constable Travis Kirby said a 23-year-old woman had been taken into custody after the incident.
The two women were known to each other, he said.
"The victim has been taken to Hervey Bay Hospital with lacerations to her head and body," he said.
"The ambulance officers weren't able to tell me the extent of the injuries at the scene, there was too much blood."
UPDATE, 2.30PM: A WOMAN is in custody after another woman was allegedly stabbed in Maryborough.
The alleged incident occurred at a Churchill St address about 1.45pm.
Emergency services treated the victim at the scene.
The suspect is understood to have fled before being taken into custody at another Churchill St address.
Neighbours told the Chronicle there had been conflict between the victim and the alleged perpetrator previously.
It is believed the victim suffered lacerations to her head.
She was seen with her head bandaged after being treated by paramedics and taken away in an ambulance.
EARLIER: A WOMAN was allegedly stabbed at an address on Churchill St in Maryborough.
Three police vehicles and an ambulance have arrived at the address.
Paramedics are attending to the victim.
The victim was overheard to have said it was "really bad".
