Ever wanted to know more about bees?

THE Gin Gin Landcare will be holding a special stingless or native bee information day on Saturday, September 26 from 9am. Entry is a gold coin donation, with a free morning tea.

The Pizza Van will be on-site selling hot slices of pizza.

The special speakers on the day will be Tony Harvey from Wide Bay Stingless Bees, Wayne from Bee Native, Bob the Bee Man from Brisbane and The Green Wizard from Gin Gin Landcare.

Experts will be transferring a log colony, splitting a hive box and discussing hive designs, bee social behaviour, nests, life cycle, reproduction, swarming, natural enemies and positions and moving hives.

The Green Wizard will speak on three endangered tree species.

Native plant sales and expert advice will be given by Gin Gin Landcare.
