Wicket taker Graham gets open call-up

CRICKET: Aftera horrible first round flogging at the hands of Gympie, Bundaberg’s Goodchild Trophy selectors have rung in the changes ahead of Sunday’s away clash with South Burnett.

Three changes have been made from the original squad named for the first game, with Josh McInnes, Murray Wenzel and Braydon Graham replacing Josh Haynes, Steve Nichols and Chris Anderson.

Nichols and fellow under-19 Wide Bay representative Zac Keune are both unavailable after being selected in the South Queensland team to play in Brisbane this weekend.

McInnes has been called up from division two on the back of strong early season form.

“He’s made a lot of runs this year, and is handy in the field as well,” manager Richie Giles said.

It will be all three new-comer’s debuts in the open Bundaberg representative side.

Captain Brendan Prossliner will also return, adding valuable experience in the top order.

South Burnett has lost a key player in Ashley Sippel — the all-rounder now plays for Gympie and reminded everyone of his skill by leading his side to victory against Bundaberg in October.

But Giles stressed they needed to win this game, and the next against Fraser Coast, and would be not taking Sunday lightly.
