Whats in a name?

Matthew Barker
Matthew Barker
Multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter Matthew Barker is no stranger to the music industry even though his name may be foreign to some. Performing under the pseudonym “The Bucketseats” for the last five years, Matthew has written, produced and released 4 EP’s under The Bucketseats name.
Matthew recently decided to step out from behind The Bucketseats project, gifting to us his laid back sounds under the Matthew Barker Music brand.
This month will see the release of Matthews first EP under his own name. Appropriately titled “The Ozland Recordings”, this EP is a stripped back, extremely intimate look into the life and song writing style of Matthew. There is something to be said for a song that can stand alone with just guitar and voice, and this EP is no exception. These 4 tracks are guaranteed to grab at your heartstrings and strike up raw emotions.
Matthew is an entirely self-taught vocalist and guitarist and years of experience as a solo performer while extensively gigging has made him an extraordinary live musician and skilled performer.
Matthew has enchanted audiences with his original music at numerous regional festivals this year including El Grande Festival, The Hervey Bay Seafood Festival and Bundaberg’s Autumn Sounds where he performed alongside Ball Park Music, Thundamentals and long-time friend Jackson Dunn.
Matthew has a multitude of gigs booked across regional Queensland for the remainder of the 2015 and is working on tour plans for next year. With the finishing touches being placed on the prequel to The Ozland Recording, 2016 is set to be a big year for Matthew Barker Music.
The EP will be officially launched on 20th September 2015 at Café 1928.
All media are invited to attend as a VIP guest of Matthew’s.
