What to expect from this weekend's weather

AFTER a spate of clear, sunny days, the weather is set to change tomorrow.

Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Kimba Wong said weekend brought the best chance of showers.

"There is the odd chance of some showers and the odd storm around over the weekend," Ms Wong said.

"It can be a bit hit and miss, we might see a few millimetres of rain around on Saturday and Sunday however if you are under a storm you may receive double digits."

Ms Wong said a couple of factors were causing the change.

"We have an inland trough sitting west in the state drawing moisture in from the Coral Sea," she said.

"Tomorrow we have a southeast change moving up the southern coastline, bringing inshore winds that give moisture a push from the east coast.

"To top it off, tomorrow there is also the influence of an upper trough moving in."

Ms Wong said temperatures would remain slightly cooler than the monthly average and windspeeds would top 15 to 25kph at the weekend before dying down on Monday.
