Wells secures another season at the Central Pulse

BUNDABERG'S Ameliaranne Wells might have missed out on selection in the New Zealand Silver Ferns' squad for next month's Netball World Cup in Australia but the former Across The Waves junior star has exciting news.

The ex-Queensland Firebirds shooter confirmed she will return to the Central Pulse for next year's Trans-Tasman Netball League.

Wells was signed by the Pulse after her stint at the Firebirds and played for New Zealand after coach Waimarama Taumaunu saw something special in her - she qualifies for the Silver Ferns by virtue of having a New Zealand father.

The 24 year old had a solid season with the Pulse, scoring 206 goals at a success rate of 78.6%.

Wells said she was excited to have another season at the Pulse.

"I just can't wait to hit the court running really - if we can build on creating a good training environment and culture then we will be on track," Wells said.

"I know that we could have done a lot better last season and I think that is a lot of my motivation."

Wells was the sixth Pulse signing for 2016, joining Katrina Grant, Phoenix Karaka, Elias Shadrock, Whitney Souness and Chelsea Pitman.
