Weekend temps well above average for July
LOCALS could be forgiven for thinking summer had come early at the weekend.
Early last week the Bureau of Meteorology had predicted we'd warm up to a toasty 26 degree maximum and while it was true for Friday, Saturday was a little warmer.
A spokesman for the weather bureau said Saturday reached 28.4 degrees - 6.4 degrees higher than the average for this time of year.
A south westerly burst is expected to bring temperatures back down to normal for July this week.
Maximums in the region should hover around 23-24 for most of the week.
