Weekend carnival a first for Bundaberg

THE Bundaberg Netball Association has been a hive of activity during preparations for for the first Bundaberg Rep Carnival.

Associations from around Queensland, including Pine Rivers, Nanango and Biloela, will be descending on Bundaberg Super Park in the next 24 hours for the carnival.

The event starts with a welcome at 10.30am today before games begin about 11am and finish up about 5pm.

Players will be back again early tomorrow morning to enjoy a barbecue breakfast with bacon and egg burgers and pancakes before play gets underway at 8am.

A presentation after the carnival will be about 2.15pm.

"This has been in the works for well over a year now and it is going to be exhausting but will be great to see all our hard work come together,” publicity officer Jodie Brooks said.

"We hope that this will be the first of many carnivals and will be working with Netball Queensland to see how we are situated to host a state carnival in the coming years.”
