We look at the 2016 season so far

ANY ONE of five sides can win the Bundaberg Rugby League premiership this season.

That is the assessment after the completion of two-thirds of the regular fixtures last Sunday.

While Hervey Bay looks to have the minor premiership wrapped up with 11 straight wins, they haven’t had everything their own way, with each side making them earn their wins.

With six teams still in contention for the finals, the race is on to fill the spots and earn the coveted double chance.

Today we take a look at how each is travelling.

Hervey Bay – Clearly the best team in the competition this year and could be undefeated if not for the boot of Jake Carl in round 1. The only question mark is completing the job in the finals. Mark: A. Prediction: First.

Past Brothers – Starting to get everything together with their main squad back. Top two will be the goal now. Mark: B. Prediction: Second.

ATW Tigers – One of the best stories of the year with finals football almost guaranteed. The turnaround has been outstanding from everyone. Mark: B+. Prediction: Third.

Western Suburbs – On their day they can give any team a shake but consistency is the key. No one will want to face them in the finals. Mark B-. Prediction: Fourth.

Wallaroos – With their season on the line, the Roos have shined recently with three straight wins. Form over next few weeks is vital. Mark: C+. Prediction: Fifth.

Easts – A loss to the Roos in round 14 has made finals tough for the Magpies. All hope is not lost, but they need to win at least three matches out of their last seven. Mark C-. Prediction: sixth.

Isis – It has been a tough year for the Devils. Look to see them build for next year now. Mark D. Prediction: Seventh.
