Waves surge to five-wicket win

ACROSS The Waves signed off on a totally dominant Bundaberg Division 2 season with a five-wicket last-round victory over Country/Wests on Sunday.

Braden Krebs compiled an unbeaten 71 for Country while John Lowe was outstanding with the ball, claiming 5-40, but ATW, who have lost just one game all season, had too many guns, getting home with more than 17 overs to spare.

They finished on 134.21 points, a whopping 39.48 clear of Alloway, who defeated an undermanned Brothers Blue by seven wickets on the back of a five-wicket haul to club president Dale Steele.

ATW also celebrated the Division 3 minor premiership with a win over Burnett Heads, successfully defending a modest total of 112.

Despite being obliterated for a paltry total of 40, the Heads nudged Norths out of fourth position by virtue of the 2.5 bonus points they received for taking 10 wickets.

Brothers White’s Boyd Smith top scored in the division with an unbeaten 70.

Isis took out the Division 4 minor title despite going down to ATW for whom all-rounder David Randall stamped his mark with 75 runs and 2-25.
