HERE is why you should never attempt to catch a snake yourself.

South Burnett Snake Catchers 24/7 posted a video of one of its catchers attempting to get a snake from a confined space.

"This feisty brown snake was in this aviary hunting mice," it said.

"It's always risky business dealing with highly venomous snakes in confined spaces."

The video posted to the South Burnett Snake Catchers 24/7 Facebook page shows the catcher having a few tries at getting the venomous snake into a bag while budgies fly above his head.

The snake puts up a fight though, attempting to wriggle away and then lunge at the catcher who manages to avoid the snake's bite.

However, the catcher finally manages to get the snake into the bag, and out of the birds' way.

"Under no circumstance should you copy the techniques you see us display in our videos," the company said.
