Car wash for good cause

WITH soapy water and sponges in hand, Moore Park State School students took to local cars and cleaned them for a good cause.

The year 6 class washed more than 100 cars at the weekend to raise funds to send their classmates to the OptiMinds event in Brisbane this weekend.

School parent Sue Donoghue said it was fantastic to see so much local support.

“The kids have been happy and helpful having water fights and plenty of fun,” she said.

The children raised more $1200 from the car wash. School raffles have boosted the amount to $2000.

“It’s fantastic to raise that much in such a short amount of time,” Mrs Donoghue said.
