Warning of phone scam

POLICE are warning members of the public to be vigilant following reports a man has been phoning people and saying they owe the Australian Taxation Office money, and if they do not pay immediately, their house will be seized.

It is a timely reminder the ATO does not solicit any payments over the phone and this is a scam.

For further information on how to stay safe, visit the Queensland Police Service website or http://www.scamwatch.gov.au.
