Wages recovered in Wide Bay area

A CHILDERS fast food outlet was one of the employers investigated when more than $50,000 in wages was recovered by the Central Queensland/Wide Bay office of the Department of Justice and Attorney-General.

Inspectors with the Office of Fair and Safe Work Queensland acted on two complaints from workers at a Childers fast food outlet and a Rolleston transport company.

They recovered more than $15,000 for one worker and nearly $38,000 for the other.

Regional manager Darryl Giddins said no prosecutions were necessary because the employers involved co-operated closely with inspectors when advised of the correct pay rates involved in both the cases.
