Drivers are warned to expect delays as Ergon Energy crews work to make the scene of a crash safe, after a vehicle hit a power pole on the Bruce Hwy.

A QFES spokesman said they received multiple Triple 000 calls about the crash that occurred about 3.50pm on the Bruce Hwy.

He said the crash had also caused a small bushfire that was quickly extinguished by two QFES crews and one person was taken to hospital in a stable condition.

Meanwhile 137 customers have been affected due to the power pole being significantly damaged, Ergon Energy corporate communications manager said.

"Crews will have to bring in additional equipment and bring in a new power pole," he said.

"Crews will try to get as many customers back on by alternate supply lines, but some customers may be offline for four hours."

The highway is closed while the scene is being cleared.
