Vegetation fire at Lowmead, large smoke haze visible

SIX Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) crews are currently on scene at a bushfire burning near Clarke Rd and Mackellor Rd, Lowmead.

Crews are working to strengthen containment lines surrounding the fire, which started about 10:30am today.

This fire is currently posing no threat to property.

A large smoke haze is affecting surrounding areas and residents are advised to close windows and doors and keep medication on hand if suffering from a respiratory illness.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and drive to conditions as smoke may affect visibility on the road.
