Vegetation fire at Sharon, smoke haze in area

SIX Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews are on scene at a vegetation fire burning near Blairs Rd and Stitts Rd, Sharon.

The fire broke out about 1.30pm and is posing no threat to property at this time.

Firefighters are working with water-bombing aircraft to extinguish the blaze.

Residents in the area are asked to close windows and doors and if suffering from a respiratory condition, keep medications close by.

There is a smoke haze in the area. Motorists should drive with caution and to conditions.

If residents are concerned their property is under threat they are advised to call 000 immediately.
