
Vandals go on graffiti spree in Childers
CHILDERS has had a spate of wilful damage complaints made to police since Saturday.
An unknown person or persons in the region had spray painted graffiti and tagged vehicles and buildings.
Senior constable Sharon Morgan said police had taken two reports on Tuesday and one on Saturday.
"Someone is going around town and spray painting various tags on anything they can find," she said.
So far two vehicles were damaged, with graffiit sprayed on the showgrounds and the school.
The Catholic Church was a target for vandals, with vulgar language used and tagged on the church sign.
Childers Police are urging the community to report any wilful damage caused by the graffiti artist.
"If you notice anything out of the ordinary, report it to the police," Snr Const Morgan said.
Snr Const Morgan said police had contacted retailers around the area asking about recent paint purchases.
"We urge parents to keep an eye on their children during the holidays," she said.
