WITH a combined 15,000 horse power on display the super sedan final had spectators on their feet at Carina Speedway on Sunday night.

Carina Speedway promoter Pete Basmadjian said the feature race of the super sedan was the icing on the cake of the two-day event.

"To have 21 super sedans at once. The noise and the feel was an amazing experience," he said.

"There were a lot of people there who had not experienced a speedway before."

Basmadjian said eventual winner Jason Campbell had completed an amazing comeback after breaking his back last year.

"The last competition he drove in Brisbane last year he broke his back," he said.

"To win a meet with this quality of competitors was a great comeback.

"Despite the intense rivalry in the competition there was not one person that would not have been happy for him."

Bundaberg's Bevan Collins said he and son Casey, 14, loved every second of the two-day event.

"I raced in the super sedan race and finished seventh," Collins said.

"My son Casey finished second in the juniors division."

Fellow Bundy super sedan driver Russell Dobson finished in ninth spot in his first meet in three years and said it was great just to cross the finish line.

"Because a lot of drivers didn't," he said.

Dobson said while the crowds were down due to the footy grand finals it was still a great environment.

"It seemed as though the crowd was into it," he said.

Dobson described the thoughts racing through his mind as he sped around the track.

"The adrenaline buzz is unbelievable," he said.

"The racing was fast and hard."

Dobson said his car had taken quite a beating but was hopeful it would be ready for the next meet in two weeks.

"I'll grab a few panels and knock it together," he said.

The next race at Carina Speedway is on October 31.
