Ute convoy set to descend
A CONVOY of more than 50 utes will wind its way from as far as Brisbane and Rockhampton on Saturday morning for an inaugural event celebrating the classic Aussie vehicle.
The convoy, driven by members of the OzUtes national ute club, will descend on Burnett Heads for the free Get Your Ute Out day, featuring modified vehicles, jeep rides and jumping castle for the kids, and different competitions for ute owners to enter.
The main competition is sure to be fought out between Holden and Ford lovers for the best prepared road-going ute, while the modified racing utes will be a feast for those who love watch the support races in the national V8 Supercar series. Racing drivers will also be available to chat to the crowds.
The event starts at noon and includes a $10 roast, live music and market stalls.
