Uno Leo takes out Best 8

GREYHOUNDS: The Best 8 event at Thabeban Park on Saturday was ruined as a spectacle with two scratchings, leaving just three runners for the race.

But nothing could be taken away from Caboolture champion Uno Leo ($1.10), which made it 11 wins and a second from his past 13 Bundaberg starts, crossing the line 3.5 lengths clear of Tizz Any Good with Sendok a further 12.25 lengths away.

The Mixed final was a far greater spectacle, with a full field of eight battling it out. Five O'Clock ($6.50) caused an upset, getting the money from one of the three heat winners, Trav's Miracle ($2.50), with another outsider Chin Chin ($7) taking third, a half-head away.

Five O'Clock, which is trained by Narelle Mulcahy, had finished only third behind Trav's Miracle in the heats.

Mulcahy was also runner-up with her previous week's winner Ripping Speed in the fourth grade, which was won in style by favourite El Fooling ($1.45). This extended her impressive record in the Rum City to five wins and a second from six starts.

El Fooling, which is trained in Tiaro by Kevin Bryant, had won twice at Albion Park before failing there in her three starts since her previous Bundaberg appearance on October 15.

Churchable trainer Dwyer Lennon claimed first and third in the maiden with well-backed pair Custom Idea ($2.30) and Deedee Valentina respectively, both of which are by Made to Size.

Custom Idea was making her race debut and she showed promise.

Lily's On Fire ($5), which had won her maiden on track debut at just her second start a week earlier, again got the money for Yengarie trainer Laurie Thomas in the Novice. Cold Vengeance ($2.10), from the Wurtulla kennels of Cynthia Elson, also made it back-to-back wins on the track in the fifth grade, outgunning Miss Pollywaffle ($2.35), which recorded her third straight second placing.
