Umoja Orphanage founder to attend Shalom College trivia night

School teacher and founder of the Umoja Orphanage in Kenya, Cathy Booth will attend the annual Rice House Family Trivia Night at Shalom College this Friday night.

Ms Booth began the Umoja in July 2011 after volunteering in another Kenyan orphanage.

The non-profit organisation is now made up of two charities, one being the Australian based fundraising arm and the other an orphanage made up of six children's homes in Ukunda, Kenya.

Shalom College is made up of eight different houses, all of which support a different charity.

The students and staff from Rice House have chosen Umoja as their charity and this year they are extremely excited to invite the founder of the Umoja to their annual fund raising event.

The trivia night is Rice House's biggest fundraising event and will start at 6:30pm tonight (May 8) in the Shalom Sports Centre.
