Two women injured in car collision

A 72-YEAR-OLD woman was taken to Bundaberg Hospital with a fractured wrist and neck pain after her car collided with a four-wheel drive on the corner of Walker and Burrum streets yesterday morning.

The 34-year-old female driver of the four-wheel drive was also taken to hospital with back pain.

Two children, passengers in the four-wheel drive, were unharmed in the accident.

Police were forced to divert traffic around the busy intersection after the collision at approximately 11am.

It is believed the older woman, who was on the way to the doctor, was trying to turn right into Burrum Street when the collision occurred.

Her sedan was turned toward the traffic island before coming to rest in the gutter.
