Two Nicki Minaj tour members stabbed, one dead

NICKI Minaj is grieving the death of one of her crew members.

The 'Only' hitmaker paid tribute to De'Von 'Day Day' Pickett on Twitter after he was stabbed to death Philadelphia in the early hours of Wednesday morning (18.02.15) alongside his colleague Eric Parker, who remains in a critical condition.

The 32-year-old star tweeted: "Two members of my team were stabbed last night in Philly. One was killed. They had only been there for two days rehearsing for the tour (sic)."

She also shared a photograph of both men on Instagram, with the caption: "#Rp @myfabolouslife - these guys flew into Philly for my tour rehearsals 2 days ago and were both stabbed last night. #RIPDAYDAY condolences to your family. Unbelievable. Eric (on the right) is recovering. Another senseless act of violence that took the life of a great guy. So sad (sic)."  



Philadelphia police officers confirmed to PEOPLE.com that both men were stabbed following an argument inside Che' Bar & Grill in Philadelphia's West Oak neighbourhood at approximately 2:35am.

In a statement, they said: "Complainant #1 had sustained multiple times in the torso and was pronounced [dead] at 2:45 AM; complainant #2 is listed in critical condition with stab wounds to his left arm and left side."

Nicki is set to kick off her 'The Pinkprint' tour in Stockholm, Sweden on March 16.
