Twins hit the runway in bid to break into modelling scene

"STRIKE a pose."

When Pelican Waters twins Nathan and Matthew Weir, 15, got to the end of the runway during their first casting for the Sunshine Coast International Fashion Festival, the phrase caught them off guard.

"It was our first time, we've never done anything like that really," Nathan said.

He and fraternal twin Matthew have just started down the path to what they hope will be a fruitful career in the modelling industry, and with the home-grown fashion festival looking for local talent, it seemed like the perfect opportunity.

"We have no previous experience but we really want to break into the modelling industry," Nathan said.

"We saw the event and thought that could be a great way to start."

It was a nerve-wracking strut down the red carpet for the first timers, hoping to impress the judges.

When it came to striking a pose, a wave of panic went through them.

"We didn't have any poses prepared," Nathan said.

"We gave it our best crack, just staring off into the horizon, all model-like."

While the boys share many common interests, they said they would be happy to be cast as a package or separately.
