Turtles keep rangers on their toes

THE turtles kept rangers at Mon Repos Conservation Park busy last night with six loggerheads and one flatback nesting on the beach.

A further six loggerheads made their way to the shore but did not lay.

The first green turtle of the season made an appearance but returned to the water before building a nest.

More than 65 people took a tour last night, taking total numbers for the season up to 3120.
