Turning CNB Times into a circus hall

THE old Central North Burnett Times building in Monto might be turned into a circus training hall.

Circus performer Tyrone O'Reilly hopes to use the vacant building for training sessions, workshops and performances.

"We're just going to fix up bits and pieces to get it running; because I'm only renting I can only do so much," Mr O'Reilly said.

The circus currently runs one day a week at the Monto Landcare site, but Tyrone hopes to move it into the CNB Times building in about three weeks.

He chose the building because of its central location just off main street.

"When I get it organised, I'll have a few signs up to start advertising to tourists who come through," Mr O'Reilly said.

"I'm hoping to start testing some stuff next week once I've finished cleaning it out."

Aside from cleaning out the old building, Tyrone plans to spend the next week or so trialling different circus activities.

"I need to make sure when I'm jumping I won't hit any beams in the roof, or go through the floorboards; safety stuff, mainly."
