Sport reporter ready to jump into the deep end
EVER wondered just how much work goes into preparing a sporting team for the coming season?
NewsMail sports reporter Ben Turnbull is about to discover just how much is involved, when for six weeks he will train with a range of the region's sporting teams to find out just what it takes.
The first part of the Pre-Season Pain series will begin in tomorrow's paper.
"It will focus on the winter sports and how they prepare," Turnbull said.
"I wanted to see how they prepare for the season and I wanted to get a better understanding of each of the sports before the season begins."
Basketball was the first sport off the rank and Turnbull said it was an interesting experience.
"The Bundaberg Bulls were the first team I trained with," he said.
"Some of the plays they learn are so hard - I think it would be hard to memorise all the plays they have to run."
