Trendy superfoods eatery set for Plaza launch
SUPERFOODS chain Pineapple Express is set to launch its trendy, "Instragram-friendly", health kick brand to the Sunshine Coast.
Brisbane favourite Pineapple Express is bringing its exciting food and beverages to Sunshine Plaza before Easter.
The boutique cafe will serve up its popular items including healthy nachos, signature loaded share boards and unique pineapple bowls.
Owner Tom Sweep said the new venture had been "in the works" for about 12 months.
"The Coast has always been in the pipeline for us, it's everything we want for the brand and the feel," Mr Sweep said.
"Everyone up on the Coast loves living healthy and we go hand in hand.
"Our menu is packed with stuff that's good for the insides. Look out for our big share boards packed with delicious options."
The cafe is be unveiled next month in the Plaza's brand new food and dining section.
It will seat 20 inside and 30 outside, complete with an "Instagrammable" photo wall, archway and neon lights.
"It's a really cool breakout area and a nice place to relax and chill," he said.
"We also have a superfoods handbook for the kids, to educate and make it fun for them to learn."
Pineapple Express, which started in Hamilton, was formed by four Brisbane mates Sweep, Johnathan Ford, Chris Weight and Leigh Metzeling.
The Plaza cafe will be its fourth in as many years, joining a second inner Brisbane and Eatons Hill eatery.
The boys are even considering an international expansion.
