Travellers embrace travel deals

SAVVY travellers are looking to make their holiday dollars go further by making the most of travel deals and bargains.

In a recent Wotif.com poll more than half of all respondents said they’d put money saved by finding a travel bargain toward their next holiday, rather than putting it in the bank or splurging on luxuries.

General Manager Wotif Brands Megan Magill said customers were more savvy than ever and looking for value for money.

“Everybody loves a bargain, and rather than splurging on a fancy dinner or a night on the town with left over money respondents say they’d prefer to put their cash toward their next trip,” she said.

“Budgets are tight but people are telling us they still want to take a break, with more than 55 per cent of people choosing to put any money they save toward their next getaway," Ms Magill said.

Only 11% of people said they'd put the money they'd saved from a bargain in the bank, with 18% going out for a fancy dinner and just 8% hitting the shops.
