Tragic end to search

THE family of missing Bogangar man Clive Easton have thanked the public for their assistance following an extensive search.

Mr Easton, 65, went missing from his home on Monday morning, with his white van found later that day beside the Rous River at Dulguigan.

On Thursday, his son Daniel posted a heartfelt message on social media, after Mr Easton’s body was found.

“We would like to thank every friend and every stranger that shared, looked and wished us well while searching for Clive,” he said.

“He has now been found and is on his journey to where he belongs.”

A Tweed Shire Council spokeswoman said Mr Easton worked as an entomologist at council for 29 years, before retiring in 2013.

Mr Easton was well-known in the community and was world-renowned in his field.
