UPDATE: Elderly woman helped from car after crash

UPDATE: AN ELDERLY woman had to be helped from the car she was travelling in onto her walker after it collided with a four-wheel-drive on Mt Perry Rd, North Bundaberg.

The crash happened at about 11.30am. The woman was travelling with an older man in a white Holden Vectra when it hit a red Mitsubishi Outlander at the intersection with Rae St.

A spokesman for Bundaberg Ambulance said nobody was hurt in the crash. The airbags in both cars went off.

The Vectra sustained significant damage to its front while the Outlander received damage to its front right corner.

The Vectra was towed from the middle of the road and police assisted two men in pushing the Outlander off the road.

Firefighters attended and cleaned the accident scene with sawdust.

By 12.30 traffic was flowing at a reasonable pace, directed by police.

EARLIER:

TRAFFIC is being diverted on Mt Perry Rd following a crash.

It's believed a Holden Vectra and Mitsubishi four-wheel drive coming out of Rae St collided. 

As of 12.15pm traffic was moving slowly and being diverted past the convenience store.
