Toy Story 4 will not be a sequel, it will be a rom-com
DO YOU remember how Toy Story 3 ended?
Do you remember the tears? The sense of satisfaction that came when films that spanned 15 years were perfectly wrapped up?
Here's the thing: Pixar is making Toy Story 4.
Luckily though, it appears this new tale won't follow on from the trilogy but instead start a new story.
Pixar president Jim Morris spoke to Disney Latino, and in Spanish, said although the new film will pick up after Toy Story 3, the same story won't continue.
The interview was translated by Slashfilm.
"The third movie ended in a beautiful way and completed a trilogy," Mr Morris said.
"I think this movie is not part of this trilogy. It is a separate story, which in turn I do not know if will be continued."
He hinted that there would be a love story, and an obvious link to the existing three films.
"It is not a continuation of the end of the story of Toy Story 3. Temporarily it is, but it will be a love story.
"It will be a romantic comedy.
"It will not put much focus on the interaction between the characters and children. I think it will be a very good movie."
It is thought that this film will follow the toys more closely, rather than their interactions with human characters.
It's due for release in mid 2017.
