Tourists rescued from floodwaters

TWO tourists who were swept away after trying to drive through a flooded creek at Rosedale were lucky to escape alive, according to their rescuers.

The two Korean nationals were trying to cross Baffle Creek at the Essendean Bridge about 11.30pm last night, when their vehicle was washed away.

By the time rescuers got to them, their car was completely underwater, and the pair were clinging to a tree to escape the floodwaters.
