Traffic chaos on Toowoomba Range following oil spill

UPDATE 4.19PM: A clean-up is underway following an oil spill on a busy Toowoomba road. 

Traffic on the upper section of the Toowoomba Range is down to one lane, with one lane blocked to allow the clean-up.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said it was unknown what caused the spill which was from the saddle to the top of the Toowoomba Range.

A RoadTek clean-up crew is on scene.

BREAKING 3.25PM: Emergency services are rushing to a large oil spill on a busy Toowoomba road.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services were called to the spill about 3.25pm at the top of the Toowoomba Range.

The spill is on the up section of the range, starting from the saddle. One lane has been blocked. 

Crews are working to clear the spill and motorists should proceed with caution.
