Time to have a cuppa and chat with the neighbours
Bundaberg Regional Council is urging residents across the region to get to know their neighbours better as part of Neighbour Day 2014 celebrations.
Bundaberg Mayor Mal Forman said Neighbour Day, being held nationally on Sunday, March 30, was a great opportunity to make friends with people next door.
"Recent events like the floods have shown us the importance of having a supportive and close-knit local community who rally behind one another and help those in need," Cr Forman said.
"As the famous song goes, 'everybody needs good neighbours' and in this day and age it's important to get outside and meet those living nearby. You just never know when you may need to call on them for a helping hand or even a cup of sugar."
Bundaberg Regional Council is urging members of the community to attend a free Neighbour Day morning tea being held at Civic Centre in Bundaberg on Friday, March 28 between 9.30am and Midday.
"It's an opportunity to meet other locals and enjoy a new friendship with a cuppa and a chat."
